About Alasdair McIntosh Photography
Cutting my teeth in the fast-paced and widely-varied field of estate agent photography, I have now worked in the property sector for over fifteen years. After purchasing my first camera before entering my teens, I began honing my creative and technical skills in the field of landscape photography with a particular interest in long exposures. It was while studying for a BA in furniture that I discovered the world of interiors.

unbridled creativity
I have always been fascinated by the abilty of a camera to alter the real world. As a result, I’ve always strived to be able to use this to my advantage when creating images. I get real joy from the craft that goes into creating a good photograph and knowing that all the different inputs from styling, time of day, composition and lighting are working together to create the best representation of a scene possible. The process of creating a final image from a blank starting point is both rewarding and addictive. My interest in the breathtaking landscapes I was exposed to growing up in Scotland has fed into a deep passion for architecture and interiors and – three house renovations later – shows no sign of abating.
I live in York with my wife, two kids and a house cat. If given half a chance I will bore your ears off with my interest in the clean tech transition or whatever interesting programme I’ve been listening to recently on Radio 4.
