Hotel bedroom photography at the Churchill Hotel, York
This shoot was for a luxury boutique hotel based in York who had revamped a number of their hotel bedrooms and needed new photographs taking of them to put on their website and across booking platforms. As the hotel is so local to me and to minimise impact on the rooms availability the photo shoot took place over a couple of days inside the normal room turnaround hours.
The Bridal Suite:
When shooting hotel rooms, styling plays a key role in the images. As a luxury hotel photographer I like my work to look authentic and not like a CGI image and so there is a careful balance to be struck between perfection and realism. Of course, you don’t want curtains to be out of place – in the first image at the head of this post there are about six crocodile clips holding the curtains into position – so that they look neat but real. The same is true for the bedding, which has its own collection of clips to hold the bedding in the right way. All of these subtle touches help raise a room with the ultimate goal being to increase bookings and conversion rates.
Here a change of angle to focus in on the bath – might show less of the room but makes it easier to imagine enjoying a nice soak. The careful lighting helps set the mood and atmosphere.
